COWEST Helps Set a World Record by Successfully Hoisting the World's Largest Single-Panel Glass Curtain Wall

On February 18, 2023, good news came from the construction site of the comprehensive office building project of Haojing Group in Nantong, Jiangsu Province. Guangdong COWEST Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. (formerly Guangzhou COWEST Machinery) joined hands with Gold Mantis Curtain Wall to successfully complete the first hoisting operation of the world's largest single-panel glass curtain wall, helping to set a Guinness World Record. The glass curtain wall hoisted this time has a specification of 20m × 3.3m × 33mm, with a single-panel area of 66㎡, a weight of 5.3 tons, and a single-piece cost of over 700,000 yuan, making its installation extremely difficult in the industry.
Different from the conventional vertical hoisting method, this glass had been in a horizontal state for a long time after being rolled off the production line. The team of COWEST innovatively adopted a prone-type suction cup connection scheme, and successfully completed the whole process of suction cup positioning, lifting, flipping, and hoisting into place through precise balance control technology. This is another milestone for COWEST in the field of super-large curtain wall installation after helping the Sub-center Library of the Capital install the world's heaviest single-panel glass curtain wall weighing 12 tons, fully demonstrating its technical strength in the field of high-end vacuum handling equipment.
